How Often Should You Valet Your Car? A Practical Maintenance Schedule

There's no single right answer

The right frequency depends on how you use the car, where it parks, and whether you've invested in protection like a ceramic coating. Here's a practical framework.

Weekly — exterior rinse only

If you park outside under trees or near busy roads, a gentle exterior rinse between full cleans prevents sap and traffic film bonding to the paint.

Fortnightly — light valet

Ideal for family cars doing regular school runs and short trips. A Camden or Covent Garden level keeps interiors from building up crumbs, mud and pet hair.

Monthly — deeper valet

For most London drivers a monthly deeper valet strikes the best balance between keeping the car pristine and cost. This is also the right interval for coated cars' maintenance washes.

Seasonal — protection top-up

Twice a year, consider a deeper decontamination and, if applicable, a coating maintenance top-up to extend the life of any existing protection.
